What the clinics advise
Use a squirt bottle to spray warm water over the perineum as you urinate.
That is the whole method. The water dilutes urine as it passes, so it stings less, and it rinses the area without touch.
Why the angled nozzle helps
A straight bottle makes you reach under yourself and twist your wrist. Our nozzle is long and bent, so you hold the bottle in front, upside down, and the jet still lands where you need it.
- Fill with lukewarm water before you sit down.
- Start the stream as you begin to urinate and keep it going until you finish.
- Rinse front to back.
- Pat dry with a soft cloth or a few sheets. Do not rub.

If you also have hemorrhoids
They are common after birth. The same Mayo Clinic page describes a warm soak for them:
Soak your anal area in plain warm water for 10 to 15 minutes 2 to 3 times a day.
A bottle is not a soak. It does keep the area clean between soaks without the friction of paper.
Good to know before you buy
- The bottle does not sterilise anything. Wash it with warm soapy water once a day and let it dry.
- It holds 300 ml. If you want a long rinse, fill it twice or take the XL.
- Hospitals often hand out a basic peri bottle. Ours is for home, where you will use one for weeks.
- Heavy bleeding, fever, or pain that gets worse is a reason to call your doctor, not to rinse more.
